May 01, 2018 Economic Development Strategies for County Extension Educators - West (Custer County Fairgrounds, Clinton, OK, from May 01, 2018 09:00 AM to May 01, 2018 04:00 PM)
This in-service will provide educators with an in depth look at economic development strategies for communities within their counties. After covering the basics of economic development strategies, the workshop will provide the educators participating with particular programs and resources to empower them to address economic development issues. Data, both sources of and how to interpret them, will be used throughout build educators' capacity in using data to justify projects and grants that support economic development in your community. Educators are encouraged to bring a laptop so they can bookmark useful websites for later use. Also, educators are welcome to invite community partners to attend this in-service.

Have you wonder how to improve your photo taking skills? Unlike other photography courses, this workshop doesn't need to invest thousands of dollars on serious camera and lenses before you can learn photography. This course teaches you how to take professional landscape photos just using your cell phone camera. The full day workshop offers a combination of traditional classroom teaching and hands-on field trip instruction at the beautiful Botanic Gardens at OSU. No previous photography experience needed. Just bring your smart phone and recharge cable (so that you can download photos to be viewed on computer), and preferably a battery bank. You will learn the fundamental principles of landscape photography and most useful tricks that could rapidly improve your photo taking skills.

As Extension educators, we are often invited to host and/or participate in meetings, which also gives us the opportunity to shape the outcomes of these meetings and their impact on our communities. Educators are encouraged to invite community members that would also benefit from this training.
