Service providers to canola producers who are interested in learning more about the crop should register now to attend the Jul 25th Canola 101 Workshop in Stillwater. This training event will cover the basics of canola production and will be helpful to both those new to the crop as well as those who have some experience but are looking for more in-depth information.

Canola 101 Workshop is planned as a complementary event to Canola College which is conducted annually for producers. It is intended for those whose provide products and services to support canola producers. The workshop is intended for: agricultural lenders, crop insurance agents, crop loss adjusters, crop advisors, Extension Educators, Government Agency personnel and others serving producers.

This event is a joint effort of Great Plains Canola Association, Oklahoma State University’s Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, the Oklahoma Oilseed Commission, the USDA Risk Management Agency and cooperating partners in the canola industry.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the program kicking off at 9:00 a.m. and finishing at 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be held in Ag Hall Rm 108 on the OSU Campus. There is no cost to attend but registration is encouraged and is available online at http://www.canola.okstate.edu via the division website.

Although participants can register at the door, we ask everyone to pre-register as soon as possible to ensure that sufficient numbers of workshop materials, refreshments and meals are on hand. Lunch and refreshments are being provided free-of-charge to participants, thanks to the generous sponsorship of canola industry members.

 - Why canola works in Oklahoma
 - Canola economics
 - Top producer experiences
