Core Training for new Educator's with 4-H assignment - Orientation as to Extension Educators role as a volunteer manager. The VMS is the protocol established to protect the youth, volunteers, 4-H program and University in the implementation and management of a "volunteer lead" 4-H program.

Educator End-Clients: To utilize this system in the selection, enrollment, tracking, placement and training of 4-H volunteers.

In-Service Instructors: Knoepfli and Newberry

First Objective: Development programs through the utilization of an adequate volunteer management system

Second Objective: To assist in the selection, enrollment, tracking, placement and training of volunteers for Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development programs.

Third Objective: To assist in the management of a quality local club program, with an adequate volunteer leadership structure. Staff to become proficient volunteer managers.

Intended Extension Educators: This in-service is required of all new Extension professionals with 50% or more 4-H responsibility.

Method of Delivery: Participants will be involved in group processing and activities relevant to the understanding of a 4-H Volunteer Management and methods for transferring that information and understanding to adult volunteers.
