4-H Volunteer Core Competencies
Core Training for new educator's with 4-H assignment - 4-H Volunteer Core Competencies program materials are designed to provide volunteers with fundamental information and to develop skills necessary in leading 4-H Youth Development program efforts at the local and county level. Staff will experience examples of how the curriculum is to be blended into subject matter being presented during any 4-H Volunteer Continuing Education opportunity.

Educator End-Clients: 4-H members, 4-H volunteers, Teen Leaders & Extension Educators will benefit from the implementation of the Oklahoma 4-H Volunteer Core Competency program. Volunteers will be able to effectively conduct their roles and responsibilities through concentrated education. Extension educators will blend the content of each unit into existing county, district and state programs through print media (newsletters, home study), marketing (displays, web page), and training conducted for adult and teen volunteers.
In-Service Instructors: Knoepfli, Rhodes and county educator(s)
First Objective: Introduce Oklahoma 4-H Volunteer Core Competencies programs, Unit 1, This is 4-H; Unit 2, Getting the Most Out of the 4-H Experience; and Unit 3, Ready, Set, Volunteer!
Second Objective: Provide a tool that will assist OCES employees in preparing parents and volunteers with the identified skills, knowledge, and resources that will enable them to effectively conduct their roles and responsibilities.
Intended Extension Educators: Extension Professional and paraprofessionals with full or 50% 4-H responsibility.
Method of Delivery: Hands on Application of the curriculum, discussion and some lecture.
