Core Training for new educator's with 4-H assignment - 4-H Volunteer Core Competencies program materials are designed to provide volunteers with fundamental information and to develop skills necessary in leading 4-H Youth Development program efforts at the local and county level. Staff will experience examples of how the curriculum is to be blended into subject matter being presented during any 4-H Volunteer Continuing Education opportunity.

Co-Parenting for Resilience: Helping Parenting Help Their Children. Divorcing and separating couples will benefit by learning techniques to transition into their new "co-parenting" lifestyle and by learning effective strategies to promote their children's healthy adjustment to their parent's separation. This class satisfies the court mandated requirement for divorcing/separating couples and those seeking custody, visitation or paternity of minor children in Oklahoma. $30 Pre-registration required.

Fourteen years since it's introduction, 4-H Volunteer Core Competency was revised in 2014. If it has been 5 or more years since you attended Volunteer Core Competencies Training this is a refresher on its use, an update as to the revisions and an introduction to the IRB evaluation tool for Unit 1. Unit 2 being the focus of volunteer training in 2016 and 2017.

The institute will provide innovative and creative problem solving and experiential learning opportunities.

Aug 10, 2017 Sustainable Landscapes: Designing a Rain Garden (116 Ag North (NOT Ag Hall), from Aug 10, 2017 10:00 AM to Aug 10, 2017 04:00 PM)
Sustainable landscapes are critical practices that positively impact our environment for human beings and the Earth. This full day workshop will provide information regarding the theory of sustainable landscapes focusing on rain gardens. Participants will learn the definition of rain gardens, case studies of successful rain gardens, as well as hands-on design skills of a rain garden, including artistic and technical aspects. You will have a guided tour to observe sustainable features in The Botanic Garden of OSU. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to design a simple rain garden using taught tools.
