Aug 10, 2017 Sustainable Landscapes: Designing a Rain Garden (116 Ag North (NOT Ag Hall), from Aug 10, 2017 10:00 AM to Aug 10, 2017 04:00 PM)
Sustainable landscapes are critical practices that positively impact our environment for human beings and the Earth. This full day workshop will provide information regarding the theory of sustainable landscapes focusing on rain gardens. Participants will learn the definition of rain gardens, case studies of successful rain gardens, as well as hands-on design skills of a rain garden, including artistic and technical aspects. You will have a guided tour to observe sustainable features in The Botanic Garden of OSU. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to design a simple rain garden using taught tools.

Co-Parenting for Resilience: Helping Parenting Help Their Children. Divorcing and separating couples will benefit by learning techniques to transition into their new "co-parenting" lifestyle and by learning effective strategies to promote their children's healthy adjustment to their parent's separation. This class satisfies the court mandated requirement for divorcing/separating couples and those seeking custody, visitation or paternity of minor children in Oklahoma. $30 Pre-registration required.

The Northwest Oklahoma Beef Conference is slated for Thursday August 31st, 2017. The conference will again be hosted at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center located at 111 West Purdue on the Garfield County Fairgrounds beginning at 9:30 am. This year’s conference showcases a great set of speakers that will help critically evaluate the basics of the commercial beef operation and work toward “Improving Efficiency for a Progressive Future”.
